Sarah Zucker

Sarah Zucker is a video artist who has been working in the medium for over ten years. She combines old and new technologies, using video synthesis and feedback techniques and resurrecting outdated formats like analog VHS tapes. Her interdisciplinary art practice explores the relationship between analog and digital, using humor, myth, and mysticism to transport viewers into vibrant worlds of nostalgia. Sarah's work merges performance, animation, and figuration in a digital-analog approach to videomaking, resulting in ‘video-paintings’ that blend vintage and modern equipment. Since April 2019, she has been using blockchain technology to create provenance and scarcity for her digital artworks, a capability she believes will be monumental for the future of digital art. By using blockchain to introduce traditional art market concepts like provenance and scarcity into the digital realm, Sarah is helping to legitimize and establish a market for screen-based and digital art.
